FAQs

It would be an honor for us if you chose to spend your time with us at church. However, we recognize that choosing to get up and come to a church is not always easy, especially if you don't really know what to expect. Here you'll find some common questions and their answers, and things that you can expect from us when you stop in for a visit.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you want. You'll be welcome you whether you're wearing jeans and a tee-shirt, a sweater and khakis, a dress, or an atikłuk.

What is your worship service like?

In our worship services, you can expect that we would sing together, pray together, and sometimes have a sermon or a presentation. Our messages are Bible-based, in keeping with our fundamental belief that all doctrines should be based on what the Bible says.

When are your worship services?

Our worship services take place every Saturday (we call it "Sabbath"). We have a study time for adults beginning at 11:30 AM with Sabbath School for kids beginning at the same time, although older kids are welcome to attend the adult class. If we are having a presentation on a given Sabbath, the service begins around 12:30 PM, or when Sabbath School is over. We have a group dinner immediately following church service/Sabbath School.

What do you have for my Kids?

Each Saturday we have Sabbath School classes beginning after 11:30 in the morning for children. Sabbath School is a place where kids can come together to learn a constructive lesson from the Bible that is designed to be age-appropriate, and fun.

Pathfinders

Our church participates in a co-ed scouting program called Pathfinders. Pathfinders is a group like boy or girl scouts for youth ages 10-18. Participants learn about Jesus and about how to be a good citizen in our world while learning practical skills and spending time with their friends. Pathfinders do many activities, including camping trips, and are organized into "clubs," which are like Boy or Girl Scout troops. For more information, check out our Pathfinder page!

What else should I expect?

During our services, someone might wish you a "happy Sabbath" when they see you for the first time, or when you two are going to part company. This is an Adventist tradition, and you should think of it like they are saying, "Hey! It's good to see you!" or "I hope you have a great day!" depending on the context.

You should also know that we are not perfect people. We make mistakes, just like everybody, and with God's help we are growing to acknowledge those mistakes and to begin to act the way God wants us to. We hope that you, too, will walk with us on that journey with Jesus toward His kingdom.
